Peabody Institute Library presents an Intro to Sound Recording class in the Creativity Lab on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m., in the lower level of the Main Library, 82 Main St., Peabody. The Creativity Lab’s Sound Kitchen is equipped with everything needed to create original music. Participants will learn how to get started composing and making music. Salem Theatre Company presents Tom Stoppard’s award-winning comedy “Heroes,” on stage today through April 12, with performances playing Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m., at 90 Lafayette St., Salem. The 12th annual Olde Salem Greens 5K Cross Country Race is set for Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m. at Olde Salem Greens, 75 Wilson St., Salem. Online registration remains open until tomorrow at noon and costs $18 per entry. Registration is also available the day of the race until 8:45 a.m. at the race site, and costs $20 per entry. Preregistered runners may pick up their bib number and shirt on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Salem Senior Center, 5 Broad St. The race is hosted by Salem Department of Park, Recreation & Community Services, and race proceeds go directly to the Salem, Park and Recreation Department and the Salem High School Cross Country Team. The JCC of the North Shore has launched a new Special Needs Inclusion program at its Summer on the Hill camps in Marblehead. Children ages 3 and older who participate in the Special Needs Inclusion receive special support and guidance to help them practice their motor, communication and social skills in a natural setting with their group peers.
