Officer struck on 128 ramp
Danvers police Lt. Carole Germano, center, speaks with state police as troopers investigate an accident yesterday morning at 10:25 in which a Boxford officer working a detail was struck by a truck carrying signs and suffered an injured knee, police said.
DANVERS — The rear bumper of a sign truck struck a Boxford detail officer in the knee at 10:25 a.m. yesterday as it backed up on a new ramp at High Street and Route 128 north, police said.
Robert Corliss suffered a knee injury, Danvers police Sgt. Robert Bettencourt said, adding that the injury was not life-threatening and turned out to not be as serious as police first thought. -

A pickup truck that was reported stolen in Topsfield on May 26 was discovered by some hikers in the woods off Middleton Road at Bald Hill. The vehicle was towed and turned over to the Topsfield police. -
Defense lawyer fights theory teen was texting before crash
The lawyer for Aaron Deveau tried to poke holes in the prosecution's theory that the teen was texting just before he drove head-on into another car, resulting in fatal injuries to the driver and seriously injuring the passenger.
