SALEM — On Feb. 22, 1982, Robert St. Pierre got an early morning phone call at home, asking him to come into work as soon as possible.
When St. Pierre, then a lieutenant detective on the Salem Police Department, asked what was going on, he was told to look out his window. -

Police are blaming the mishap on a "broken fridge," according to the log, and can possibly be traced to a faulty plug. -

MARBLEHEAD — It took just an hour and a half for an excavator to tear down Wayne Johnson's house at 74 Bubier Road yesterday morning, ending a 16-year legal fight with his neighbors.
