March 06, 2008 06:41 am IPSWICH — There are only two items on tonight's School Committee agenda. Without the second one, the first might not draw an audience most nights. It's further discussion about the possibility of erecting a wind turbine generator near the middle and high schools. That's probably in the distant future, and anxious parents are more interested in what's happening in the schools right now. Superintendent Rick Korb is scheduled to present his recommendations for a Proposition 21/2 override request to avoid nearly $1 million in cuts to balance next year's school budget. The committee is also expected to vote on his recommendation. The recent public hearing on the budget drew about 250 people to the Performing Arts Center. Many speakers expressed a desire to put an override before voters this spring. The meeting gets underway at 7 p.m. in the ensemble room at the middle/high school. — Steve Landwehr
