Karen Fogarty and John Farrell, sales associates in Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Beverly office, completed the sale of 4 Cobb Ave. in Manchester-by-the-Sea for $4,375,000. According to statistics from MLS Property Information Network, the transaction represents the third highest-priced single-family home sale in Manchester-by-the-Sea thus far in 2012. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is the largest residential real estate brokerage company in New England.

Danvers resident Robert Chilton joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Topsfield office, where he will serve as a sales associate and provide residential and commercial real estate services throughout the North Shore.

Kevin Norton, president and CEO of Northeast Behavioral Health, was awarded North Shore United Way’s 2012 Live United Leadership Award in honor of his outstanding leadership, commitment and values in supporting a nonprofit organization on the North Shore, and embodiment of Live United’s community spirit. This is the first year that the awards committee has recognized a leader from the mental health and addiction treatment field. Two years ago, Norton merged two individual nonprofits — CAB Health and Recovery Services Inc. and Health and Education Services — to create Northeast Behavioral Health, a multiservice agency with one-stop mental health and addiction services. The organization now has 1,500 staff members and serves individuals and families north of Boston. The North Shore United Way is a local, independent United Way serving eight North Shore communities, including Beverly, Hamilton, Ipswich and Wenham.

Mary Valliere

was named chief medical adviser at VNA Care Network & Hospice in Danvers. Valliere will oversee the medical component of patient care provided by the agency’s home health care, palliative care and hospice clinicians. Valliere served as the senior clinical consultant for the Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment Demonstration and Expansion Projects; palliative care clinical consultant for the UMass Memorial Medical Center and UMass Memorial Hospice; chief of palliative medicine for UMass Memorial Medical Center; and hospitalist for UMass Memorial Medical Center, Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. She is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Valliere is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester and was a resident in internal medicine and chief medical resident and faculty scholar fellow in addiction medicine at the Medical Center of Central Massachusetts/Worcester Memorial Hospital. She was a faculty scholar at the Harvard Medical School Center for Palliative Care and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Society of Addiction Medicine, and American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

Gayla Bartlett presented a workshop on 25 years of women in Kiwanis International at the Kiwanis New England and Bermuda District Convention. Kiwanis International is celebrating its 25-year anniversary of allowing women’s membership in the organization. The Kiwanis district honored Bartlett as one of the top 25 up-and-coming women leaders in the organization’s district. Bartlett, the manager of Cranney Self Storage, is the incoming vice president of Danvers Kiwanis and incoming president of North Shore Women in Business.

Peabody resident Jennifer Brennan was named

general manager of Cakes for Occasions, a gourmet, nut-free pastry shop in Danvers. Brennan has worked at the bakery for nine years, first as a cake decorator and most recently as the wedding coordinator for custom-design wedding cakes. Brennan will oversee all retail operations and manage a staff of 30.

Swampscott resident Flori Schwartz

was named director of community campaigns and women’s philanthropy at the Jewish Federation of the North Shore. Prior to her new position, Schwartz worked as campaign counsel for JFNS. She’s served as campaign director for Temple Ahavat Achim’s capital campaign, director of development at the North Shore Music Theatre and associate director of development at the Anti-Defamation League. Schwartz is a former JFNS board member and currently serves on Cohen Hillel Academy’s board of trustees and the New England regional board of the Anti-Defamation League. She is a member of Temple Sinai in Marblehead.

Milestones

The Marblehead Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome its new member, SUP East Coast Style. The event included demonstrations, a sunset paddle and a barbecue at the business’s launch location on Dead Horse Beach in Salem. SUP East Coast Style offers stand-up paddle board rentals, lessons and youth programs.
