The Marblehead Chamber of Commerce Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for the 2013 Community Awards and Board of Directors for the chamber. Each year, the chamber recognizes individuals and businesses for their commitment to the community of Marblehead. Members of the community are encouraged to nominate individuals and businesses. Businesses that are nominated for Business of the Year must be chamber members. Nominations are due on Friday, Aug. 23, by 5 p.m. Details and forms are available at www.marbleheadchamber.org.

The community is encouraged to nominate individuals to receive Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce’s Harry Ankeles Community Service Award, which recognizes a leader in the business community whose community service and spirit contribute to the rich, cultural heritage of the city of Peabody. The award was established in memory of chamber member and Peabody resident Harry Ankeles and is presented annually to a chamber member who exemplifies selfless dedication to the community. LCB Senior Living, LLC, held a ground-breaking ceremony for The Residence at Riverbend, its new independent, assisted and memory care residence for seniors located at 149 County Road in Ipswich. The ceremony celebrated the $20 million project, which is slated to create more than 70 permanent jobs with a $1.8 million annual payroll; more than 50 construction jobs; and serve as one of the largest employers in the area. The project will include 75 apartments, 10 percent of which will be affordable housing.
