Two new members joined North Shore Community College Foundation’s board of directors: James Horrocks of Essex, managing director of Integrated Financial Partners in Danvers, and Andrea Kantaros of Peabody, vice president and market manager at People’s United Bank in Beverly. The foundation raises funds for college programs and scholarships.

Susan Finigan of North Shore Physical Therapy Associates recently attended the New Hampshire Musculoskeletal Institute Symposium in Manchester, N.H. Finigan is a certified aquatic therapist and teaches classes for North Shore Physical Therapy Associates in Marblehead and the Council on Aging in Marblehead and Swampscott.

Danvers resident Cheryl French was appointed director of events and marketing at Northeast Arc, a nonprofit that assists people living with disabilities. French will be responsible for branding, social media and online presence, marketing strategy, and fundraising events. Most recently, she was first vice president and corporate communications manager for Danversbank, now People’s United Bank, in Danvers. French has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and volunteers at the Northeast Animal Shelter and the Friends of Danvers Dog Park.

Donna Brewer, town counsel for Hamilton, has been selected for inclusion in Massachusetts Super Lawyers 2012, a magazine that publishes an annual rating of lawyers. Brewer concentrates in general litigation and municipal law.

Peabody Learning Academy director Seith Bedard was selected as the 2012 Administrator of the Year by the Simon Youth Foundation. Bedard was recognized for demonstrating excellence in leading an academy toward overall success. He is a graduate of University of Massachusetts Boston and earned a master’s in special education from American International College. He serves on the board of directors for the North Shore Chapter of the American Red Cross and works with the Workforce Investment Board of the North Shore.

The following new live-in staff members joined Landmark School: Jake Levenstein, Justin Smith, Casey Whittaker and Samantha Williams.

For the fourth consecutive year, Eastern Bank was ranked the No. 1 U.S. Small Business Administration lender in Massachusetts and the No. 1 SBA lender in New England. Eastern Bank made 400 SBA loans in Massachusetts, including 103 on the North Shore totaling $5.2 million. Also, for the second consecutive year, Eastern Bank ranked first in the origination of 504 SBA first mortgage loans. The rankings are issued annually in October based on the number of loans originated by banks in the SBA fiscal year. Eastern Bank has branches in Beverly, Danvers, Marblehead, Peabody, Salem and Swampscott.

The city of Beverly issued an occupancy permit for the ground floor of Cummings Center’s new Northwest Parking Garage, off Balch Street. The two-level structure’s upper floor is expected to open for use within two weeks. The garage will hold 440 cars. A support structure above the second floor will soon hold a solar array, providing energy to power common areas at Cummings Center.
