Nobil earned the certification after completing a curriculum of seven online training modules focused specifically on identifying and meeting the needs of small business owners and commercial property investors who are often underserved by traditional lending sources.

Bob Dumais has been promoted to vice president at Beverly Cooperative Bank in honor of his achievements and commitment to the bank and its customers. He has been with Beverly Cooperative Bank for 11 years. Dumais has long been active with many community organizations, including the Hamilton-Wenham Rotary Club, Gloucester Rotary Club, Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Wrentham and the Wrentham Association for Retarded Citizens, Gloucester Pride Stride, Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association, Beverly Bootstraps, Gifford School, and Waltham Boys Club. The Danvers Housing Assistance Trust is conducting a lottery for first-time home buyers for moderate-income families who have strong ties to Danvers but cannot afford to purchase a home here. DHAT will provide funding up to $40,000 to assist with the purchase of a house or condominium. Applications are available at the Planning and Human Services Department at the Town Hall. The total gross annual income at the time of application to the program cannot exceed the following limits: one- to two-person household, $84,100; three- or more person household, $96,700. DHAT will be accepting applications until noon on June 22. On June 25, one person will be selected to qualify for a second mortgage loan.

North Shore Medical Center Associate Chief of Thoracic Surgery James Allan, M.D., has been awarded the 2007 American Society of Transplant Surgeons Wyeth Collaborative Scientist Award. The award will provide $50,000 in research funding for Allan and his team each year for the next two years.

The Wyeth Collaborative Scientist Award provides qualified investigators and their scientific collaborators with research funding in the field of solid organ transplantation. Allan and his team are developing new techniques for the isolation and transplantation of lung cells to treat a variety of congenital and acquired respiratory diseases.


Allan practices as part of the Massachusetts General Hospital Division of Thoracic Surgery at NSMC and is a member of the Massachusetts General Hospital Lung Transplantation Team. He is a resident of Marblehead.

King Fish Media recently announced the promotions of Brad Ketchum to vice president of sales and Heather Austin as senior graphic designer. As vice president of sales, Ketchum will now have management responsibilities associated with King Fish events and will also provide cross platform account management with major clients. As senior graphic designer, Austin is responsible for the design of several of the company's client's private media solutions across multiple platforms. Austin will continue to work on the evolution of the King Fish brand and was part of the design team behind the relaunch of kingfishmedia.com.
