Salem resident Robert Lutts, president and chief investment officer of Cabot Money Management, was elected to the YMCA Retirement Fund's Board of Trustees. The fund has assets of roughly $4.8 billion and administers retirement accounts and other benefits to more than 90,000 employees of YMCAs throughout the United States.

Noah Hartman was named Cohen Hillel Academy's head of school and will begin this July. Hartman currently serves as dean of student life and the arts at Doris and Alex Weber Jewish Community High School in Georgia. He has a master's degree in education from New York University, a master's in Jewish education from the Jewish Theological Seminary, and completed the Day School Leadership Training Institute fellowship program. Cohen Hillel Academy is in Marblehead.

Gordon College history professor Thomas Albert (Tal) Howard was selected as one of 15 recipients of Christianity Today's 2012 Book Award, for his book "God and the Atlantic: America, Europe, and the Religious Divide." Fifty-two publishers submitted nearly 400 titles. Christianity Today International reaches more than 2.5 million readers with its various publications.

Milestones

Hungry Betty's, a casual restaurant on the second level of the Village Plaza on Pleasant Street in Marblehead, joined the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce. The restaurant celebrated its membership with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a Business After Hours networking event.

Giving

Beverly Cooperative Bank recently made donations to the North Shore Community Development Coalition and Lifebridge (formerly the Salem Mission) as part of the bank's Community Partners Program. North Shore CDC is a nonprofit housing and community economic development agency. Lifebridge provides affordable housing, emergency shelter, support services and more.

Staples Inc. is offering a special-edition flash drive to benefit 41 Boys & Girls Clubs statewide, including Salem's. Staples Inc. will donate $1 of every flash drive purchased in Massachusetts stores to the Massachusetts Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs.
