North Shore Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Robert Bradford said it’s good news that the Appleseed’s jobs will be staying on the North Shore.
“It’s important that people who live here have the opportunity to work here in good-paying jobs,” Bradford said.
Greenier acknowledged there was a sense of nostalgia about the company leaving Beverly.
“That’s kind of the sad part about it,” he said. “We’ve always enjoyed being in Beverly, we’ve always been part of the community. We’ll still have a retail store here. A lot of employees live in close proximity or in Beverly. We didn’t want to move far enough away that it would be an inconvenience for people.”
The Ferncroft Corporate Center is a 226,000-square-foot, eight-story office tower on Village Road near the Ferncroft Country Club. Appleseed’s will lease more than 43,000 square feet, according to The Davis Companies, which owns and manages the building.
Current anchor tenants in the building are SAS Institute and Super Media Services-East, a former Verizon subsidiary. The Davis Companies said it has made “significant capital improvements” in the building, including a new conference center and a renovated fitness center, cafeteria and lobby.
