Peabody native Margaret Tierney joined All Care Hospice as a care transition specialist, and Salem resident Paul Dulong joined the All Care VNA sales team as a care transition specialist. Tierney and Dulong will support patients and families receiving home care and support services available through All Care’s full continuum of care. All Care Hospice, located in Lynn and North Andover, offers end-of-life services and provides physical, emotional and spiritual support for patients and families.
The 11th annual charity wine tasting and auction, “A Matter of Taste,” at the Danversport Yacht Club raised more than $100,000 for All Care Hospice patients and their families throughout the North Shore, Greater Boston North, and Merrimack Valley. Salem Five Charitable Foundation was the event benefactor and title sponsor. All Care Hospice, located in Lynn and North Andover, offers end-of-life services and provides physical, emotional and spiritual support for patients and families.
Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation donated a 1,075-foot hose, one hydrant assistive valve and an automatic monitor nozzle, worth more than $10,700, to the Danvers Fire Department. The donated equipment, which would otherwise be unavailable due to the department’s budget constraints, will increase the department’s efficiency by allowing for a faster and easier hook-up to a water supply during fire-fighting operations. Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is the charitable arm of Firehouse Subs Restaurant, a casual restaurant chain founded by former firefighters and brothers. The restaurant has a branch in Danvers.
Cranney Home Services donated $1,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem as part of the company’s Cranney Cares for the Community initiative. Brian Cranney, owner of Cranney Home Services, presented the check to Joanne Scott, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem, along with members of the club. Each month, a nominated nonprofit organization receives a $1,000 donation from Cranney Home Services.
Matty’s Food and Spirits joined the Beverly Chamber of Commerce and celebrated its new membership with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Danvers Selectman Dan Bennett and more than 50 Danvers and Beverly businessmen and women attended. Matty’s Food and Spirits is located at 194 Endicott St., Danvers.
The North Shore Community Development Coalition honored the following people and partnering organizations with the 2012 Pillar of the Community Awards to recognize the recipients’ contributions, which embody and strengthen the Coalition’s mission: Housing Hero, Senator Frederick Berry; Bedrock of Support, Windover Construction; Outstanding Volunteer, Anita Pitts of Gloucester Crossing; Change Agent, Deanna Arsenault; and Community Partner, Salem Community Charter School.
