Glen Urquhart School in Beverly has installed a new, 55-kilowatt system of solar panels, supplied and installed by Solect Solar. Located on the roof of the school gymnasium and theater, the panels will provide 36 percent of the school’s electricity and will prevent 105,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emission. The system will have a weather station with a real-time monitoring system installed in the school. The new energy initiative will also be incorporated in the school’s science curriculum.
The board of directors of Atlantic Tele-Network Inc., a telecommunications service provider headquartered in Beverly, has announced a quarterly dividend of $0.27 per share, payable on April 4, on all common shares outstanding to stockholders of record as of March 31.
VascuVis Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Elucid Bioimaging in Wenham, has been awarded a two-year, $696,200 Small Business Innovation Research Phase II Grant from the National Science Foundation to build on and refine vascuCAP, an image processing system that uses computer-aided prognostics to evaluate the severity and composition of atherosclerotic plaque.
