Lynne Batty was awarded the special needs support staff Bammy Award, presented by the Academy of Education Arts and Sciences International, for her work as a physical therapist at The Children’s Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf. Batty was recognized for her caring and dedicated approach to physical therapy with a diverse group of special needs students.


Laura MacNeil was appointed acting executive director at North Shore Community Action Programs, a regional anti-poverty agency based in Peabody. Most recently, MacNeil served as deputy director of NSCAP, where she provided administrative leadership and program oversight to the agency’s 136-person staff.


Danvers resident Patrick Padden Jr. has joined Salem Five Bank as the senior vice president of the commercial banking division. Most recently, he worked for more than 18 years as a senior vice president in commercial banking for Middlesex Savings Bank. He has a political science degree from the College of the Holy Cross and earned a certificate of special studies in administration and management from Harvard University Extension School.


Wayne Burton, president of North Shore Community College, will be awarded the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations 2012 Pacesetter Award, which is presented annually to a community college chief executive who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to marketing and communications and has demonstrated strong personal leadership in community outreach endeavors. Burton will be honored in the council’s District 1, which includes the eastern United States from Maine to Washington, D.C., and the Maritime Provinces of Canada and the United Kingdom. After receiving the award, Burton will become one of seven finalists for the national Pacesetter Award that will be presented in March at the group’s national conference in Chicago.


Adeline Matton of Danvers has opened Accurety, a full-service real estate firm in the Cummings Center in Beverly. Matton has 15 years of experience in the real estate, financial and mortgage service industry. She has a master’s degree in business administration from Endicott College.
