Michael Badolato of Newton, N.H., has been named dean of academic technology at North Shore Community College in Danvers. Badolato will oversee distance learning and instructional technology and the instructional media and production services departments. Previously, he held administrative positions at Middlesex Community College and Berklee College of Music and was an adjunct faculty member at the Boston University Graduate School of Education. He also served as a private consultant in the Internet industry for a variety of clients in the business, nonprofit and educational sectors.

Ralph Rotman of Marblehead, a financial representative, has been honored by Northwestern Mutual with membership in its 2012 Forum group, which recognizes an outstanding year of helping people achieve financial security. Only the top 5 percent of Northwestern Mutual’s financial representatives receive this annual honor. Rotman is affiliated with the McAvoy Network Office in Boston.

Jackie Giordano, director of external affairs at North Shore Community Development Corp., recently received the 2012 Rising Star Award from the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations, recognizing her as an emerging leader in the community development field. Mickey Northcutt, executive director of North Shore CDC, received the 2012 Young Leader Award from Affordable Housing Finance for his dedication to community development and affordable housing.

Dr. Manju Sheth, an internist at Beverly Hospital in Danvers, was recently elected president of The Indian Medical Association of New England, a Waltham-based organization for medical professionals of Indian origin. Sheth said that her goals for the group in the coming year include strengthening ties with the research and academic medical community; deepening the group’s many charitable, social and professional activities; and organizing a collaborative health expo that will bring various hospital and health care providers together with the Indian community. Sheth said that the group also will seek to increase membership through greater outreach to Indian-American physicians in New England.
