Salem Five recently sponsored RiverFeast 2012 at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, as part of the bank’s continuing partnership with independent radio station 92.5 The River. Proceeds from the Nov. 17 event will benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank. The charity concert featured Marshall Crenshaw & the Bottle Rockets and JD McPherson, in addition to a Thanksgiving-style dinner and silent auction featuring autographed music memorabilia.

The Salem Five Charitable Foundation recently awarded a total of $25,000 to 25 local nonprofit organizations. The funds are proceeds from the foundation’s 25th annual golf tournament held at the Salem Country Club. Each year, Salem Five employees nominate organizations that they are personally involved in. Twenty-five are then selected to receive a $1,000 award each. Among the organizations receiving donations were Acord Food Pantry in Hamilton, Beverly Bootstraps Community Services, Danvers Community YMCA, Healing Abuse Working for Change, Independent Living Center of the North Shore and Cape Ann, Marblehead Museum & Historical Society, and the Plummer Home for Boys in Salem.
