PEABODY — Perfect weather capped an eventful day on Monday at The Meadow in Peabody, where the city’s Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce held their annual Torigian Golf Classic. The event is a combined fundraiser, with proceeds going to scholarships that both groups give out to graduates of Peabody high schools, both public and private, who are heading off to college.
Golfers enjoyed 18 holes at the beautiful Peabody golf course, plus breakfast, lunch, raffles and awards.
The winning team of golfers was from Allied Waste. The longest drive for a woman went to Sue Kelly from Boston Land; longest drive for a man went to Kenny Greer of Title Boxing; and closet to the pin was Mike Murray from US Roofing. The event was sponsored by Cranney Companies.
