Mary Ann O’Connor, president and CEO of VNA Care Network & Hospice in Danvers, was recently appointed to the state’s Health Planning Council Advisory Committee. The council is charged with submitting a state health plan, identifying needs for services, facilities, providers and programs, to the governor and the Legislature by Jan. 1, 2014.

Katherine McKnight has been named sales manager at the Salem office of Coldwell Banker Resident Brokerage in New England, where she will be responsible for the day-to-day sales and operations of 20 sales associates. McKnight previously served as corporate business developer and manager of client relocation services in the Beverly office.

Paul Mayo recently joined Pingree School in South Hamilton as program director and coordinator of alumni affairs for Prep@Pingree and interim director of multicultural education. Mayo was previously the director of diversity at New Canaan Country School in Connecticut and has been teaching in the summer student enrichment programs for the last 17 years.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and a master’s from the University of Bridgeport.

Brien Henderson has been named vice president of global sales, monitoring products at SmartBear Software in Beverly. Henderson comes from IDC, an IT research and advisory firm, where he spent more than a decade, most recently as group vice president of worldwide sales for six of IDC’s units.

Gail Tyrrell of Danvers, a real estate agent at RE/MAX of New England, was named fourth among the company’s top 25 agents for sales production for April 2013. Tyrrell, who has a degree in social work, has been a real estate agent on the North Shore for the past 33 years and specializes in senior housing transitions.

Three new members were elected to the board of HAWC, a Salem-based agency dealing with domestic violence. They are Gladys Agudelo of Revere, property manager for Maloney Properties; Fernando Ramos of Lowell, an account manager for Allied-Barton Security; and Linda Puopolo of Lynn, a finance and asset management consultant. Officers elected for the 2013-1014 term are: president, Stephen Feron of Hamilton, a partner with Johnson O’Connor Feron & Carucci LLP; vice president, Ruth Bitchell of Byfield, a senior vice president with Eastern Bank; secretary, Sandy Edwards of Peabody, vice president of institutional advancement at North Shore Community College; and treasurer, Benjamin Waxman of Salem, president of Benjamin Waxman Communications.
