Michele Campbell joined King Fish Media, an integrated marketing agency in Salem as a senior account manager. Campbell will help craft marketing programs and contribute to new business development efforts. Prior to King Fish Media, Campbell directed social media strategy at the Handel and Haydyn Society and worked as a print designer at Berklee College of Music. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Simmons College and a Master of Science in advertising from Boston University. She serves on the board of Salem's Wicked Running Club, assists in the operation of the North Shore Cancer Run and co-directs the Salem Tennis Tournament.

Iana Plum of Mar blehead joined Lucía Lighting & Design, a lighting and home design store. Plum has extensive interior design experience in both commercial and residential offices. She received a Bachelor of Arts in interior design from Syracuse University.

Sandy Lezon, a full-time Realtor for eight years and a native of Ipswich, joined J. Barrett & Company in the Ipswich office. Lezon is a former elementary school teacher and a fourth-generation Ipswich native.

The American Society of Safety Engineers announced John Mroszczyk of Danvers as the winner of this year's Best Technical Article award for his article titled "Prevention of Fall Fatalities and Injuries." His article focuses on fall protection and fall prevention and different types of fall hazards present on construction sites. Mroszczyk was honored with the award during ASSE's Professional Development Conference held in Chicago. Mroszczyk is the president of Northeast Consulting Engineers Inc. in Danvers.

New businesses

Attorneys Stephen Judge of Topsfield and Christopher Hemsey of Beverly have joined their individual practices to form a new firm, Hemsey Judge, P.C., located in The Felt building, 47 Federal St., Salem.

Giving

In partnership with the Boys & Girls Club and the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, the Hair Cuttery in Danvers is launching its 12th annual "Share a Haircut" program to provide children in need with a fresh haircut to start the new school year.

Employees at Converge Diagnostic Services in Peabody, led by Chief Operating Officer Elaine Lebreque and clinical diagnostics manager Jo-Anne Lemenager, spearheaded a companywide employee drive to raise money for Citizens for Adequate Housing Inc. in Peabody, to benefit formerly homeless women and their children who reside at CAH's Inn Between and Inn Transition residences. Converge Diagnostic Services employees presented CAH with a check for $650.

Guests of Burger King at 259 Highland Ave., Salem, can donate to The Jimmy Fund through its A Chance for Kids program through Sept. 5. Donations help fight childhood cancers.

The Dominion Foundation has granted $10,000 to the Plummer Home for Boys in Salem for "Beyond the Basics" programming, which provides the residents of Plummer Home access to a wide variety of opportunities and experiences they would not otherwise have.

The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation awarded a $125,000 grant to Northeast Behavioral Health to support the organization's information technology strategic plans and support the organization's 1,500-member staff to better serve thousands of children and their families in Essex County and throughout the North Shore area. Northeast Behavioral Health has programs in Beverly, Danvers, Ipswich, Peabody, Salem and Topsfield.

North Shore Bank will serve as the signature event sponsor for Citizens for Adequate Housing's largest annual fundraiser, "Raising the Roof," and will largely support the event's planning costs. The auction and gala will support the Peabody nonprofit's mission to fight family homelessness on the North Shore. The bank has branches in Salem, Beverly, Peabody, Danvers and Middleton.

Milestones

The New England Museum Association has given publication awards to two local museums. The Peabody Essex Museum won the Newsletters and Magazines category for its Connections members magazine. The Montserrat College of Art Gallery won first-place awards in the Calendars of Events and Programs category for its entry titled "Fall 2010 Visiting Artist" and in the Exhibitions Catalogues, Under $10 category for its entries titled "America Now" and "The Morning Exciting."

JEOL, a high-tech firm that produces scanning electron microscopes and other equipment for scientific uses, was honored recently for its InTouchScopeTM model. The touch-screen-controlled, portable scanning electron microscope was cited by R&D Magazine as one of the 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace over the past year. JEOL has a regional center in Peabody.

Brooksby Village, an Erickson Living retirement community in Peabody, celebrated the grand reopening of its fitness center, which has doubled in size. The fitness center features all-new cardio equipment, strength machines, a free weight area, renovated locker rooms and other amenities.

Two nonprofits, CAB Health and Recovery Services and Health and Education Services, have merged to create Northeast Behavioral Health, which will provide outpatient, residential, emergency, school- and community-based services for children, adults and families on the North Shore and the Merrimack Valley. The agency has 1,500 staff members and an operating budget of $73 million.

Salem Renewal LLC recently celebrated the redevelopment of Harbor's Edge condominiums in Salem with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Harbor's Edge, consisting of three buildings, was modernized by Salem Renewal LLC with new plumbing, new wiring systems, spacious kitchens and baths, and redesigned floor plans.

The Marblehead Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for new chamber member Kitsen Table, which provides light, eclectic cuisine available for eat-in, takeout, delivery or catering, 10 Bessom St., Unit 9, Marblehead. Owners Mita Snow and Mia Lunt were on-site to welcome fellow Chamber members and guests.
