Thaddeus Siemasko was inducted as president of the Beverly Rotary Club, an organization with which he has been associated for 20 years. Siemasko is president of Siemasko + Verbridge, a 15-person design firm in North Beverly. He also serves on the city's Building Commission and the Beverly Regional YMCA Board and is an incorporator at Waring School.

Paul Bogart of Topsfield and Shannon Hale of Beverly have joined Windover Construction. Bogart is director of finance and administration, and Hale is an executive assistant. Windover Construction is based in Manchester-by-the-Sea.

Jim DiFazio, a resident of Ipswich and a registered real estate broker, has joined J Barrett & Company in the Ipswich office. DiFazio has been a real estate broker for the past 10 years and served as president of Ipswich Co-operative Bank for 20 years.

David Fama of Peabody joined East Boston Savings Bank as vice president, business development officer. Fama previously was vice president, business development, at Danversbank He also worked as a senior account executive at First American Title Insurance Co. in Boston and as a mortgage officer at Stoneham Bank. He is president-elect of the Saugus Rotary Club and a past volunteer coach for Peabody Youth Soccer and Girls Softball.

New businesses
East Boston Savings Bank has received approval from the FDIC to open a branch in Danvers. The bank is taking over the space that was formerly occupied by Movieworks at 10 Elm St. The bank will be managed by Maureen Gillis, former Danversbank branch manager. The bank's new Corporate Banking Division, headed by Frank Romano, will be located here.

Planet Fitness is opening a new location in December in the Hawthorne Square Mall next to Target in Salem. The gym is currently doing a $2 million renovation of the site and will hold a pre-grand-opening sale in the fall.

MicroData Group Inc., headquartered in Beverly, has received a U.S. Commerce Association's Best of Local Business award for the third consecutive year. MicroData, which provides IT services to businesses, was selected for the 2011 Best of Beverly Award in the Computer System Designers & Consultants category.

LINE-X is a national company that provides protective coatings for trucks, boats, tools and other items.

Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody was awarded the Silver Commitment to Quality National Quality Award by The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living. The award is presented annually to facilities that serve as models of excellence for long-term care. Pilgrim Rehab is owned and operated by Berkshire Healthcare.

North Shore InnoVentures, a nonprofit operator of two technology business incubator facilities in Lynn and Beverly, has received a $211,500 grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration to support the expansion of its startup entrepreneur mentoring program and operations of its two incubators.

Salem Car Wash was awarded first prize in the 2011 Salem Traffic Island Competition by the city of Salem, Salem Garden Club and Salem Beautification Committee. Judges considered appearance, flower/shrub selections, layout and other features. Salem Car Wash's traffic island is near the flagpole across from the post office.
