For the fifth time, the Commonwealth Institute has recognized The Resource Connection Inc. of Middleton and Boston as a Top 100 Woman-Led Business in Massachusetts. Founded by Janet Santa Anna and Sallyann Tomarchio, The Resource Connection is a full-service staffing company specializing in temporary, temp-to-hire and direct placement of office and administrative personnel.

Carl Michael Salon, a full-service salon based in Wakefield, is opening an additional 1,000-square-foot salon at 85 Andover St. in Danvers. The salon is slated to open this spring.

Shetland Park Self Storage has installed a state-of-the-art Insomniac 570 self-service kiosk, which allows customers to rent units, pay rent and buy a padlock from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., 365 days a year. The kiosk is located by Shetland Park’s main entrance on Congress Street in Salem. The facility has also launched a new website and companion mobile website with enhanced functionality to foster 24/7 business transactions.

Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries has reopened an attended donation center at 19 Howley St. in Peabody. Goodwill provides job training and career services to individuals with barriers to employment. Three of the employees at the Peabody donation center received training at Goodwill’s Job Training Center in Salem.

New England Homes for the Deaf in Danvers was named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes list for 2013. The home received an overall five-star rating, which was determined by health inspections, nurse staffing and the quality of medical care.

North Shore Community Development Coalition’s youth jobs program has been approved as an affiliated member of YouthBuild USA, a national technical assistance provider and intermediary based in Somerville. As an affiliate, the North Shore CDC, in partnership with Salem Community Charter School, commits to managing a sustainable youth program, YouthBuild North Shore, and empowering young adults with the competency and desire to transform their lives and improve their communities through education, employment and leadership development. The program is eligible to receive state and federal funding to employ young people throughout the region and to access youth education trainings and certifications for students employed in the program.
