Matt Laidlaw has been hired as marketing and communications director at For Kids Only Afterschool, which is located in Salem and provides year-round afterschool, school vacation and summer programming in East Boston, Everett, Peabody, Revere, Salem and Winthrop. Laidlaw was previously communications director for State Sen. Sal DiDomenico and communications director for the city of Everett.

Christina Frost of Danvers, a real estate agent, has joined J. Barrett & Company in the Beverly Cummings Center office. Frost graduated from Gordon College in 2004 and recently completed the coursework for a master’s degree in counseling.

Gail DiVico of Salem was promoted to manager of the Salem office of Training Resources of America. DiVico, who has worked at TRA since 2006, previously served as instructor, coordinator, mentor specialist and assistant manager at the Salem office.

Michael Andreas, director of the Endicott College homeland security studies program, will speak at the sixth annual National Homeland Security and Defense Education Summit, to be held Sept. 26 to 28 at Northeastern University and Hanscom Air Force Base. The theme of the conference is “Developing an Adaptive Homeland Security Environment,” and Andreas will speak on creating graduate-level criteria for the homeland security discipline.

Joshua Woodfork has been named executive director of the president’s office at Skidmore College and coordinator of strategic initiatives. Woodfork, who graduated from Swampscott High School, is an assistant professor in Skidmore’s American studies department.

Milestones

The law firm of Watson & Watson has relocated from Newburyport to 458 Boston St. (Route 1) in Topsfield. Douglas Watson has practiced law since 1980, and his wife, Patricia, joined the firm in 1987. It became Watson & Watson in 1995. Douglas’ area of specialty is family law, but he also provides legal services in civil litigation, probate and real estate. Patricia’s areas of practice are divorce mediation and personal injury.
