Swampscott author Laurie Jacobs

’ children’s book “Silly Frilly Grandma Tillie,” published by Flashlight Press, was awarded the 2012 Gelett Burgess Children’s Book Award in the multigenerational category for outstanding contributions to children’s literature. The award highlights excellence in family-friendly books covering a child’s existence, helping children grow socially, emotionally, ethically, intellectually and physically.


Danvers resident Amy Wallick

joined J. Barrett & Co.’s Beverly Farms office as a full-time Realtor. Wallick is an accredited buyer representative and a certified investor agent specialist. She is the 2012 president-elect for the North Shore Association of Realtors. Wallick was named the 2009 Rookie of the Year and served on the Presidential Advisory Group for the Massachusetts Association of Realtors to start the Massachusetts Chapter of the Young Professionals Network.


Beverly resident Kathleen Feldman was appointed office manager for the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Massachusetts. Prior to joining AICUM, Feldman worked as a resettlement manager for Journey’s End Refugee Services Inc. and as a volunteer teacher in rural Tanzania with the Jesuit Volunteer International Program. Feldman earned a Master of Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany and has a bachelor’s degree in international/intercultural studies from Fordham University at Lincoln Center.


Marblehead resident Barbara Gold

was named director of development for the Anti-Defamation League. Gold will lead ADL development efforts in the league’s five-state New England region. Prior to joining ADL, Gold served as director of development at The Rashi School and served as principal for Executive Resource Partners and Morrill, Koslow & Associates. Gold earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and is a member of the board of directors for Cohen Hillel Academy and board of advisers for the Robert I. Lappin Charitable Foundation. The ADL is the world’s leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.
