Harborlight Community Partners has been awarded a $50,000 grant from The Boston Foundation to support its mission of creating and managing affordable housing for low- and moderate-income people in Essex County. The nonprofit, based in Beverly, is the region’s oldest and largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing. The Boston Foundation is made up of 900 charitable funds established by donors either for general benefit of the community or for specific purposes.


Kate Chapman has joined J. Barrett & Company as a real estate agent in the Beverly Cummings Center office. Chapman has served in the military as a medic in Iraq and in personal security with a private firm. Beverly residents Diana and Thomas Andruszkiewicz have also joined J. Barrett & Company as real estate agents in the firm’s Beverly Farms office. J. Barrett & Company is a privately owned real estate company with six offices on the North Shore.


Cynthia Napierkowski, band director at Salem High School, was selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by the National Society of High School Scholars, an international honor society that recognizes academic excellence. Napierkowski was nominated by student Alexis MacTaylor for her dedication and commitment to excellence in the classroom.


Marblehead resident Paul Korins has joined the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Beverly as a sales associate.


Carrie Breaux has been appointed director of Northeast Arc’s Spotlight Program, a 10-year-old program that fosters development of social-emotional competence and confidence in youth ages 6 to 22 who struggle to navigate the social world. Previously Breaux was assistant program director of Northeast Arc’s Building Blocks program. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in special education, and is currently working toward board certification in applied behavior analysis. Based in Danvers, Northeast Arc provides services and support to people with disabilities.
