The Essex National Heritage Commission recently presented Pioneer in Partnership awards to Nathaniel Pulsifer of the Ipswich Historical Society and William Nelson of the Ipswich Visitor Center for their collaboration as leaders within the Ipswich 375th Committee and to Joseph Geller, chairman of the Topsfield Rail Trail Committee, whose decades of service to recreational trail development recently came to fruition with the opening of the Topsfield Linear Park.

The Verizon Foundation recently awarded a renewal grant of $10,000 to Keys to Degrees, a program for single parents at Endicott College, to be used for its expanded mentoring services, as well as summer residences for young single parents from the North Shore.
