Susan Shelby, founder and principal of Rhino Public Relations, and account director Jennifer Shelby have been appointed to the boards of two organizations in the greater Boston area. Susan was named to the 2012-2013 Board of Directors of New England Women in Real Estate. NEWiRE is the region’s leading professional organization promoting the advancement of women within the commercial real estate industry. Susan will chair the Communications Committee.

Jennifer joined the Board of Directors of the Society for Marketing Professional Services’ Boston Chapter as a director-at-large for the newly established Certified Professional Services Marketer Committee. Rhino Public Relations is a specialty public relations and marketing agency in Hamilton.

The Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Ted Bettencourt celebrated the grand opening of Apricot Lane Peabody

with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Apricot Lane Peabody features the latest designer brands, collections and unique gifts for women. The boutique is on the lower level of the Northshore Mall in Peabody.

Milestones

Brookwood Financial Partners LLC, a real estate investment and asset management company in Beverly, recently acquired One Alewife Center, a multi-tenant office property in Cambridge. The 89,826-square-foot, four-story office structure is at the intersection of routes 2 and 16, in the Fresh Pond/West Cambridge market.

TRK Design Co., a kitchen and bath design firm in Marblehead, was honored by Kountry Kraft, a custom cabinet-maker, for design and sales. The award recognizes TRK Design Co.’s contributions to design excellence and innovation and for serving as the largest dealer of Kountry Kraft cabinetry in the greater Boston area.

Peabody-based Beacon Roofing Supply Inc. acquired Structural Materials Co., a distributor of residential and commercial roofing products and related accessories headquartered in Santa Ana, Calif.

Marian Court College, a Catholic coeducational private college in Swampscott, announced the addition of a Bachelor of Science in business administration to its selection of academic concentrations. Classes are slated to begin in January.
