Gordon College recently honored 10 faculty and staff members who have worked at the college 25 years or more. Employees of 30 years include: Bridget Acciavatti, dining services, Beverly; Russell Bjork, professor of computer science, Beverly; Kimberlie Mather, controller, Brentwood, N.H.; Janet Potts, assistant registrar, Ipswich; Judith Spates, administrative assistant, Danvers; Richard Stout, professor of mathematics, Ipswich. Employees of 25 years include: Robert Grinnell, development, Hamilton; Norman Jones, associate professor of theatre arts, Salem; Irvin Levy, professor of chemistry and computer science, Hamilton; Barry Loy, vice president for student development and dean of students, Essex.

Dr. Li Li, professor of history at Salem State College and coordinator of the college's Asian studies program, recently received the Massachusetts Governor's Citation in recognition of his commitment to students with diverse needs.

Milestones
Pathways to Financial Careers, an industry-led partnership that is devising an assessment system to identify ideal candidates for teller positions, was recently awarded the 2010 Skills Trainer of the Year Award at the MA Jobs and Workforce Summit. Members of the partnership include North Shore Community College, Operation Bootstrap, Eastern Bank, Salem Five Bank, North Shore Bank, Danvers Bank, the North Shore WIB and the North Shore Career Center.

Mass Motion Dance North at 36 Walnut St., 2nd floor, in Peabody, which offers dance and fitness training, recently joined the Peabody Chamber of Commerce.

Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, a 123-bed healthcare center located on the upper campus of Beverly Hospital, has received a 2010 Silver Quality Award from the American Health Care Association.

FINE Mortuary College, LLC in Norwood and North Shore Community College in Danvers have developed an articulation agreement whereby specified NSCC courses can be applied to the Associate in Applied Science in Funeral Service degree program at FINE.
Giving
Endicott College recently received a $400,000 grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation of Battle Creek, Mich., to begin a pilot project for the national replication of its Keys to Degrees program. The program offers young, single parents the opportunity to pursue a college degree while living on campus with their children in specially designed housing.
