David Yaches has joined SmartBear Software in Beverly to lead the company’s strategic partner campaign as vice president of corporate development. Yaches has a successful track record spanning more than a decade in which he worked on more than 40 mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, and business development transactions valued at more than $500 million. He was previously a director at Innovation Advisors, a boutique investment bank, advising midmarket technology companies on mergers and acquisitions, equity private placements, and business development strategies.

While at Innovation Advisors, Yaches successfully advised many organizations on transaction sales, including the high-profile sales of BeyondTrust Corp. to Symark International, Wavemaker Software to VMware and Sigaba to Proofpoint. Before that, he was a mergers and acquisitions analyst with Broadview International, a global mergers and acquisitions investment bank focused on the Internet technology, media and communications sectors. During his career, he has developed a particular expertise in Internet technology infrastructure software, cloud computing and Internet technology services. Yaches has a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Pennsylvania.

Lyn Skarmeas of Danvers has been named vice president of business development and provider relations at Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston, a nonprofit hospice provider in Massachusetts. Skarmeas will be responsible for all facets of business development with a focus on customer service. Skarmeas, a dedicated advocate for quality hospice services, will communicate with referral sources and the community to enhance their understanding of hospice services.

Skarmeas brings a broad range of experience to HNSGB, having worked in the Massachusetts’ nonprofit home care and hospice field for the past 18 years. She has hired a team of six provider relations coordinators who will work with physicians, hospitals, home health providers, assisted-living facilities, nursing homes, long-term care facilities and other community organizations to educate providers and patients and assist with patient referrals for hospice service.

Skarmeas is the wife of Danvers School Committee Chairman Arthur Skarmeas and is a mother of two.
