Beverly resident Alan Temkin, senior financial planner of Temkin Financial Group, earned membership in the insurance industry’s Million Dollar Round Table. MDRT membership is recognized internationally as the standard of sales excellence in the life insurance and financial services business. Temkin is a member of Beverly Rotary, Beverly Chamber of Commerce, North Shore Chamber of Commerce and Beverly Main Streets.
Marblehead resident Robert Gurman, a certified financial planner practitioner, was elected president of the Essex County Estate Planning Council, the local affiliate of the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils. Gurman will serve on the Board of Directors of the local affiliate. Gurman is also a member of the Financial Planning Association and has worked in the financial services industry for 21 years.
Marblehead resident Penny Wigglesworth, founder of the nonprofit Penny Bear Company, was awarded her second Paul Harris Award by the Marblehead Rotary Club. Wigglesworth’s company creates teddy bears that are given to people needing comfort, compassion and friendship. Wigglesworth is the author of “Penny Bear’s Gift of Love” and also started Circles of Hope, a weekly program that offers encouragement to those in need.
North Shore Medical Center awarded the following registered nurses and caregivers for their outstanding service and clinical excellence: Broadhead Clinical Excellence Awards to registered nurses Catherine Gallant, Marta Kane and Dorris O’Leary; Broadhead Clinical Nursing Excellence Award for Advanced Practice to registered nurse Carrie Siefken; NSMC Nursing Leadership to registered nurse Melissa Bruning; and the Blodgett Award to caregiver Becky Delande and registered nurse Melissa Kimball .
joined Aviv Centers for Living as the new community relations coordinator. Gordon will be responsible for coordinating with the North Suburban JCC and Aviv’s volunteer network, the Friends of Aviv, and for developing community outreach and connection efforts. Aviv Centers for Living has branches in Peabody and Swampscott.
