The American Bus Association has named Salem Haunted Happenings as one of the Top 100 Events in North America for 2014. Inclusion in the Top 100 list, published as a supplement to “Destinations” magazine, recognizes Salem Haunted Happenings’ entertainment value to both tour groups and individual travelers from around the world.

Cummings Properties has completed its final planned solar array at Cummings Center in Beverly. The office and technology park now features four large solar installations, with 5,295 panels generating more than 1.5 megawatts of power. Built over the past two years on support structures above the campus’s four parking garages, the solar arrays help power 50 percent of the common area electrical load for Cummings Center’s seven buildings and 2 million square feet of commercial space.

Giving

North Shore Bank donated $2,000 to the Peabody’s Kids Day celebration, which was part of the International Festival. The Kids Day celebration took place on Leather City Common and included food, games and entertainment. The bank also donated $2,000 to the Progeria Research Foundation to support its 12th annual Progeria Race for Research in September. Progeria is a fatal, rapid aging disease that afflicts children.

Cummings Properties’ Employee Directed Giving program, which invites staff members to each select a local charity to receive a $1,000 donation, distributed a total of $182,000 recently, with $38,000 awarded to the following nonprofit organizations on the North Shore. Beverly: Bass River Inc.; Beverly Bootstraps; Centerville Elementary School; Farms-Prides Community Association; River House; and Spectrum Adult Day Health Program. Boxford: Hope4Horses Inc. and Windrush Farm. Danvers: Danvers People to People Food Pantry; Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston; Northeast ARC; Operation Troop Support; and St. John’s Prep. Ipswich: Wolf Hollow. Marblehead: Lynch van Otterloo YMCA; The Friends of Marblehead Hockey; and Town of Marblehead. Peabody: Civil Air Patrol; Haven from Hunger; John E. Burke Elementary School and North Shore Community Action Programs. Salem: Northeast Animal Shelter and Salem Academy Charter School. New business

Rudy Van Oeveren of Peabody and Mike Murray of Ipswich have partnered to launch Peabody Wealth Advisors, which offers personalized financial services and advice. The Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception at the firm’s new office in the Cranebrook Business Park on Andover Street in Danvers.
