Barbara Broudo of Beverly, director of the archives and museum at Endicott College, was presented with the CSA Fellow Award at a recent Costume Society of America National Symposium in Atlanta. Broudo has been affiliated with the society in national leadership positions for many years, including serving as president of the organization. The society encourages the study of dress and fashion through education, research, preservation and design, and The Fellow Award is the highest award it bestows, recognizing dedication, commitment, leadership and outstanding contributions.

Jennifer Smith-Petersen of Ipswich has been named volunteer program coordinator at Brooksby Village in Peabody. She will be responsible for managing 400 volunteers and interns who historically complete approximately 67,000 hours of volunteering per year. Previously, Smith-Petersen owned a graphic design business creating branding, as well as print and Web materials. She also worked part time as a senior caregiver.

Swampscott resident Cynthia Merkle
was named one of Banker & Tradesman’s Women of FIRE, an annual award honoring the key female players in the local FIRE (Finance, Insurance and Real Estate) sector. Merkle is an executive vice president and serves on the management committee of Eastern Bank. She serves on the executive committee of the board of directors of Endicott College and is the president of Girls Inc. of Lynn. She was also appointed to the Board of the Commonwealth’s Financial Literacy Trust.

The Perennial Plant Association awarded Adam Woodruff, Marblehead garden designer and principal of Adam Woodruff + Associates, a Merit Award for his dramatic summer seasonal displays at the Pierre Laclede Center in Missouri. The award was presented to Woodruff at the national symposium in Boston. Professional landscape designers and architects nationwide compete annually by submitting landscape designs to be judged for excellence. This is Woodruff’s second award from the PPA.
