Stephanie D. Vail and Eric D. Nichols

Stephanie Diane Vail and Eric Donald Nichols were married on July 7, 2007, at a double ring ceremony at the North Parish of North Andover. The Rev. Frank Clarkson officiated in the double-ring ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. The couple was attended by Heather Vail, the bride's sister, Gregory O'Connell, a longtime friend of the groom, flower girl Olivia Hy, the groom's cousin, and ring bearer Adam Lorey, the groom's nephew. Owen Vail and Phyllis Forsyth, the bride's brother and grandmother, played violin duets as part of the ceremony. Melanie Pond, cousin of the bride, was the guest book attendant. Charles Hy and Peter Lowrey served as ushers.

The bride's parents are P. Stephen Vail and Gail Forsyth-Vail of Georgetown and the groom is the son of Mary Beth Nichols of Buffalo, N.Y. and David Nichols of Lewiston, Pa. In attendance were family and friends from Buffalo, Philadelphia, Toronto, and Minneapolis, as well as from New England.

For the 11 a.m. ceremony, the bride wore an ivory gown with gathered skirt and full train. She wore a Belgian lace mantilla previously worn by her grandmother, her mother, and her aunt on their wedding days. Her sister wore a cadet blue empire waist gown fashioned by her mother. Both carried orange roses, highlighted with blue and ivory.

Following a reception at the Stevens Estate in North Andover, the couple took a honeymoon trip to the Vail family cottage in Northern Ontario. Mr. Nichols is a credit analyst at Blue Tarp Financial and the new Mrs. Nichols is a pharmacist at Maine Medical Center in Portland, where the couple have made their home.
