Head injuries are among the most serious threats for young athletes. Symptoms may be subtle. Left untreated, these injuries may develop into serious conditions with lifelong effects.
Here are some symptoms that may indicate brain injury. Athletes suspected of having an injury should be referred to a medical professional before returning to physical activity.
