Dan Bennett concedes to Ted Speliotis in 13th Essex House race

DANVERS — In what he called a "wipeout," Danvers Selectman Dan Bennett, Republican candidate for the 13th Essex House seat, has conceded to Democratic state Rep. Ted Speliotis.

The 13th Essex House District includes Danvers and parts of Middleton and Peabody.

Bennett ran a successful write-in campaign during primary election to get his name on the ballot. He also challenged Speliotis in 2010, but lost by fewer than 500 votes.

Speliotis serves as co-chairman of the Joint Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure, and he is one of the most senior lawmakers at the Statehouse.
