Letter: Tired of Tierney's smears

To the editor:

I am tired of going into my daily mail and receiving another piece of defaming, slanderous literature on Richard Tisei being sent out by our current congressman. John Tierney’s attempt to paint Richard Tisei as a tea party extremist is as ludicrous as Ahmadinejad calling Israel a friend or Mother Teresa a jihadist. On the latest piece of hate mail is a false statement quoting Tisei’s website that the “tea party has been a godsend.” This is nowhere to be found on Tisei’s site.

Tierney is attempting to scare seniors again by saying that Richard supports the tea party-Ryan plan to end Medicare and replace it with a voucher system. Again, this is a false statement. Richard believes Republicans and Democrats need to work together to find solutions to save Medicare before it goes bankrupt. He is truly bipartisan, recognizes the problems we have in Washington, and is willing to cross the aisle and compromise. Unfortunately, Tierney’s record of honesty is very questionable, and these smearing ads on Tisei’s stand on issues appear to be an act of desperation.
