Molly Osborne, Manchester Essex - 2008 Salem News Student-Athlete Awards

By Matt Jenkins
Staff Writer

First impressions might lead people to believe that Molly Osborne is quiet and shy. But after time, it becomes obvious that Osborne possesses a quiet confidence that enables her to be a leader by example both in the classroom, on the athletic fields and in the community.

In many ways Osborne is a pillar of strength in the school. Teachers, coaches, teammates and classmates lean on Osborne to provide a level of balance both in the classroom and to athletics.

Osborne is a standout in lacrosse and soccer who also posted excellent SAT scores with a 730 in reading, 780 in math, and a 750 in writing. She also holds a 5.18 GPA, in addition to taking part in the Debate Team, Science League and Peer Leadership.

"Determination, skill, ability and passion are attributes that she demonstrates daily in her Advanced Placement classes and during sports practice," Director of Counseling Sharon Maguire said. "Always engaged, always prepared, Molly is an example of the best of the best we have to offer at Manchester Essex Regional."
