It would be hard to find a more well-rounded student-athlete than Kristyn Kelley. A long list of academic achievements is matched by both sports excellence and a list of community service projects. While Kelley doesn't consider herself an excellent athlete, it's a testament to her dedication and work ethic that she became a standout volleyball and tennis player at Peabody High. She was named a Salem News all-star in volleyball as a defensive specialist and was selected as a Greater Boston League all-star in tennis.
She ranks seventh in a class of 422 students and will attend either Suffolk University or Stonehill College. She has also remained busy away from sports and academics by volunteering for such community service projects as Adequate Housing Charity Auction, Walk for Hospice, Haven from Hunger and Pride in Peabody Clean Up, among others.
Her attitude in and around the Peabody High School community has earned her the respect of the high school teachers and administration.
"She exhibits exemplary character at all times and is an excellent role model for her peers to emulate," Peabody High Principal Edward Sapienza said. "She is active in numerous community service activities and serves as secretary of our Student Council. Her enthusiasm toward school and furthering her education are among her most important goals."
