The AARP's Greater Peabody chapter will sponsor a driver safety program today from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. that will focus on the aging process with respect to eyesight, hearing and driver response time. There will not be a test. Cost is $12 for members, $14 for nonmembers, and the course will take place at Peter A. Torigian Community Life Center, 79 Central St., Peabody. See, smell, and taste living herb plants with landscape specialist Denise Galligan, chairwoman of the Boxford Village Garden Club’s Horticultural Advisory Committee, in a free program at Boxford Town Library, 10 Elm St., Boxford, tonight at 6:30. Also tonight at 6:30, Salem Sound Coastwatch will sponsor a free, hands-on session on marine bio-invaders at the Community Function Room at Winter Island Park in Salem. Barbara Warren, SSCW executive director, will introduce these sea creatures and talk about SSCW’s findings over the years. Following the presentation, those who are interested can explore a Winter Island tide pool with SSCW staff. All ages welcome.
