---- — Celebrate the openings of Peabody Historical Society and Peabody Art Association’s new exhibits, called “Downton Abbey Style, 1900-1925: Women’s, Men’s and Children’s Wear from the Collection of the Peabody Historical Society” and “Poetry on Canvas II,” respectively. On Sunday from noon to 3 p.m., peruse Peabody Historical Society’s exhibit exploring the evolution of fashion, from the restrictive and romantic dress of the Edwardian Era to the more casual and free-form styles of the Roaring ’20s, and get up close to the similar fashions worn by characters in “Downton Abbey.” Then, step into Peabody Art Association’s gallery for an exhibit in partnership with the Massachusetts State Poetry Society that features member artwork inspired by, and placed alongside, contemporary poetry. During the reception, meet the visual artists and poets whose works are on display. The reception will be held at Cassidy Art Museum at 33 Washington St. in Peabody. Admission is free and open to the public. Visit http://www.peabodyhistorical.org/current_exhibits.asp for more information.
