School vacation week

THURSDAY SCHOOL VACATION WEEK. “Sound Like An Animal,” Thursday, Feb. 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Peabody Essex Museum, East India Square, Salem. Part of weeklong exploration of music and communication in the animal world, and the many ways creatures big and small inspire artists. Make bullroarers; read “The Jazz Fly”; meet Dr. Elizabeth Bradt, a veterinarian; and watch “On a Wing and a Song,” an interactive performance. PRACTICALLY PERFECT POPPINS FUN. Thursday, Feb. 20, 1 to 3 p.m., Wenham Museum, 132 Main St., Wenham. Have a “supercalifragilisticexpialidoecious” afternoon at the museum making a Mary Poppins-inspired craft; it could be her kite or her carpet bag. For families with children ages 3 and up. In remembrance of “Single’s Awareness Day,” attendees will make anti-valentines and friendship bracelets, watch a movie, decorate cupcakes, and remember why being single rocks.
