Kevin Mahar, past president of the IUE-CWA 201 union and president of the union’s retirees, and Susan Strauss, shop stewardess and one of the first female machinists, will present the history of unions at General Electric and videos of the 1959 strike. This informative talk takes place at 10 a.m. at the Explorers Lifelong Learning Institute Center, 10 Federal St., Salem. All are welcome. Donations will be accepted from nonmembers in attendance. Celebrate Art in August with a special workshop that complements the Ipswich Museum's summer exhibit, "I must go down to the seas again," today from 3 to 5 p.m. All ages are welcome.
