It's the last day of the Friends of Abbot Library’s Winter Book Sale. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., buy a full bag of books for $1 at Abbot Public Library, 235 Pleasant St., Marblehead. Anyone who comes in at 2 p.m. to help pack up the remaining books will be rewarded with a free bag of books for each hour worked. Sale proceeds support the library. The Salem Peace Committee sponsors a free screening of “Chasing Ice,” the story of one man’s mission to change the tide of history by gathering undeniable evidence of climate change, tonight at 7 at St. James Conference Room, corner of Bridge and Flint streets, in Salem. Retired North Shore dentist Clem Schoenebeck will discuss his book “Dancing with Fireflies,” which tells his family’s personal struggle with mental illness, at 7 p.m. at the JCC of the North Shore, 4 Community Road, Marblehead. The program includes a panel of mental health experts, Drs. Howard Weiner, Jack Weltner and Ronnie Zuessman, who will discuss mental health issues and answer questions from the audience. New York Times best-selling author Phyllis Karas will moderate. This event is open to the public.
