HIGH SCHOOL ART COMPETITION RECEPTION. Thursday, March 13, 5 to 7 p.m., Manninen Center for the Arts, Endicott College, 376 Hale St., Beverly. Endicott College’s third annual High School Art Competition 2014 is a juried exhibit featuring works by 46 students from local high schools. A reception, musical presentation by the Endicott Singers, and awards ceremony will be held; exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. M IS FOR MUSEUM: ILLUSTRATORS SHOW. Friday, March 14, 10 a.m., Wenham Museum, 132 Main St., Wenham. Children and the museum’s educator will look at and talk about the original children’s book illustrations in the Draw Me A Story exhibit, then draw a picture to take home. Meet Salem artist and Marblehead native Susan Dodge, whose paintings and prints are on view at the Howling Wolf, and in the lobby of the Salem Theatre Company during the showing of “Heroes” from March 20 to April 12.

CHARITY EXHIBITION RECEPTION. Saturday, March 15, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., The Centennial Gallery, 4 Centennial Drive, Peabody. To celebrate their adoration of the Atlantic Ocean, a group of six artistic Salem Willows Yacht Club members are exhibiting their various works of art, many with a focus on the area’s seaside surroundings, at The Centennial Gallery.
