A birthday breakfast

Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ 109th birthday with a breakfast of green eggs and ham. The Kiwanis Club of Beverly, The Cat in the Hat and other storybook characters will host the breakfast, which will be held tomorrow from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Italian Community Center, 300 Rantoul St., Beverly. The full breakfast features green (or yellow) eggs, ham, pancakes, milk, orange juice and coffee. Activities include face-painting, balloons, raffles and giveaways, and attendees are encouraged to bring a camera, as there will be an opportunity to meet and pose for pictures with popular characters, including The Cat in the Hat, the Easter Bunny, Wally the Green Monster, Hello Kitty, Bob the Builder and Blue from “Blue’s Clues.” Children will be admitted for free and must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is $5 for adults, and tickets will be available at the door. All of the community is invited to celebrate the birthday of the iconic children’s book writer and cartoonist.
