Fill your heart and your stomach at St. John's Prep's Memorial Dining Hall during an Empty Bowls dinner party at 6 p.m. Purchase a handmade, one-of-a-kind bowl made by a student and fill it up with your choice of soup donated by local restaurants and food shops, with proceeds benefiting Haven from Hunger in Peabody. The Prep's own SwingTown! a cappella group will also perform. The minimum suggested donation per bowl is $10. St. John's Prep is at 72 Spring St., Danvers. Take a walk with teacher/naturalist Scott Santino under the full "wolf moon" tonight from 7 to 9 at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary. The group will look for signs of wildlife and talk about how plants and animals survive the cold, harsh conditions of a Massachusetts winter. You might also get the chance to hear great horned owls.
