A “KNIGHT OUT.” Friday, Sept. 27, 7 p.m. to midnight, Salem Knights of Columbus Hall, 94 Washington Square, Salem. The Beverly Knights of Columbus, in conjunction with neighboring Knights of Columbus chapters, will host a benefit for the family of Boston Marathon bombing victim Martin Richard. Event includes catered food, live music/DJ, silent auction and a cash bar. $25 per ticket. All proceeds directly benefit the Richard family. CAR WASH & CANNING FUNDRAISER. Saturday, Sept. 28, 9 a.m. to noon, Marblehead High School circular drive, 2 Humphrey St., Marblehead. Car wash and canning fundraiser to support Marblehead High School’s boys soccer program. $20 suggested donation per car; all donation amounts accepted.

ELIMINATE 5K RACE. Saturday, Sept. 28, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Danvers High School, 60 Cabot Road, Danvers. Danvers Kiwanis’ 29th annual Eliminate 5K road race to benefit the Elimination Project, a collaborative effort to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. Food and drinks served after the race. CLOSER BY THE MILE. Saturday, Sept. 28, 7 to 11 p.m., Hastings House, 14 Oak St., Beverly. Join host and 20-year Pan Mass Challenge rider Mary Campagnolo for fine wine; music by Diane Blue & Friends starting at 8 p.m.; raffles and auction items, including an Instant Wine Cella; and more. All proceeds go directly to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s Jimmy Fund for life-saving cancer research and treatment. $20 suggested admission. Cash bar. Ages 21 and up, only.
