A spread of creativity
This weekend, the Carriage Room at the Smith Barn will be blanketed with contemporary quilts created for Peabody Historical Society’s first-ever Miniature Quilt Challenge Exhibit. The challenge called for participants to choose one quilt from a selection of three antique quilts in the society’s collection and use it as inspiration for their work. This exhibit, on view tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m., will showcase all entries and inspiration quilts. Visitors are invited to cast votes for their favorite quilts, and prizes will be awarded to the top three entries. Voting ends Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at 2:45 p.m. The society will also have its quilt collection displayed throughout the Nathaniel Felton Senior House. Smith Barn is at 38 Felton St. in Peabody. Admission is $5 per person, and all are welcome. For more information, call 978-531-0805 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
