Dozens of photos are on display at the Salem Arts Association in the "Take Your Best Shot" photography show.
The show represents a broad range of styles and subjects, from Elaine Snow's beautiful black and white photo of ice-encrusted branches called "Winter Bones" to Peggy A. Farrell's colorful photograph titled "Pond Reflection."
"It's a really diverse collection of photography," said Ellen Hardy, president of the Salem Arts Association.
Most of the photos in the exhibit are for sale. The show was judged by Salem Arts Association members Kirk Williamson, Dan Browne and Arlene Browne. The association received roughly 35 entries from North Shore artists, and roughly 25 pictures were hung.
The show is up through Aug. 29, and there will be an artists' reception this Saturday at 4 p.m. that is open to the public.
The Salem Arts Association is a volunteer-run nonprofit formed in 2007 that seeks to bring art to the Salem community. It is on Artists' Row in downtown Salem, where the photography exhibit is staged.
