Musicians Kevin Margolius and David Sparr will perform a concert titled “Faces of the Night,” featuring Jewish music of danger, dreams and celebration, on Sunday, Jan. 27, at Temple Beth Shalom, 489 Lowell St., Peabody. Wine, cheese and crackers will be served from 6:30 to 7 p.m., followed by the concert from 7 to 8 p.m., ending with a dessert reception. Margolius, a tenor, serves as the cantorial intern at Temple Beth Shalom and a student in the cantorial ordination program of Hebrew College. He is also the Mary Wolfman Epstein conducting fellow of the Zamir Chorale of Boston and conductor of the Prozdor High School a cappella choir. Sparr, a pianist, has been the music director and accompanist at Temple Ohabei Shalom and is the owner/engineer of Little Dog Studios. In addition to accompanying and/or recording many of New England’s cantors, Sparr has also been working extensively with Argentinian cantors Gaston Bogomolni and Elias Rosemberg. At 12:01 a.m. on Feb. 27, 1963, St. Mary’s Parish was divided in two, and a new parish, St. Richard of Chichester, was officially recognized and named to honor the patron saint of Cardinal Cushing. A parent orientation meeting for Our Whole Lives, a sexuality education program that will be offered to teens jointly by the Unitarian Universalist congregations of Marblehead and Salem, is being held Saturday, Jan. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marblehead church, 28 Mugford St. The program, which offers registration to nonmembers, will be held in 18 sessions divided between meetings in the spring and then again in the fall, and will provide some sessions at each location. The parent orientation meeting is mandatory for participating families and includes a sign-off by parents and guardians. Two socials will follow, in February and March, for the group and its leaders. On the second Sunday of each month, members and friends of Maple Street Congregational Church will collect food and essential items for the Danvers Food Pantry.
