From now until 1 p.m., Sen. Joan Lovely, Rep. Jerry Parisella and the Beverly Council on Aging will host a Senior CharlieCard Day, which allows seniors ages 65 and up to sign up for a reduced fare CharlieCard without having to travel to the MBTA store in Boston. To register, stop by the Beverly Council on Aging, 90 Colon St., Beverly, and be sure to bring along a valid, state-issued photo ID that includes date of birth. Questions? Salem State University is celebrating Earth Day with a weeklong schedule of events, including a panel discussion today from 12:30 to 2 in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Room at the Ellison Campus Center, on SSU's North Campus, 352 Lafayette St., Salem. The topic for discussion is "Green Buildings: Sustainability at Salem State University and North Shore Community College." Panelists include an SSU administrator; Barbara Ikalainen, green initiatives coordinator, North Shore Community College; and Kevin Bergeron, senior associate, William Rawn Associates, Architects Inc. If you enjoy eating fresh fruit and veggies and want to support a local farm, head to the Peabody Institute Library to learn about its partnership with Clark Farm to bring a community supported agricultural (CSA) program to Peabody this summer. Bill Clark of Clark Farm will explain how the CSA program works, contents of a typical share, and how interested participants can register for their share of locally and naturally grown fruits and vegetables. The CSA program information session begins at 7 and takes place at the Main Library, 82 Main St., Peabody.
