"The Iris Lady," Linda Corapi, is the special guest of tonight's Peabody Garden Club meeting, at 7 in the Community Room at Aviv Woodbridge, 240 Lynnfield St., Peabody. Corapi’s presentation will focus on the cultivation of irises with a discussion on planting, dividing and hybridizing. Guests are welcome, and the $5 guest fee may be applied to membership. The Tri-M Music Honor Society presents the annual Musical Showcase, featuring singing, solo and group numbers, and the high school jazz band, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Salem High School, 77 Willson St., Salem. There will also be refreshments, a raffle and a silent auction. SHS physics teacher Will Warren will be the master of ceremonies. Proceeds benefit the Tri-M Music Honor Society Community Service Fundraising Project. Tickets are $10 adults, $5 students and seniors, $70 for a table of eight, and are available at the door.
Screen several short films by students from the Raw Art Works Real to Reel Filmschool in Lynn tonight at 7 at Abbot Public Library, 236 Pleasant St., Marblehead. This free screening is presented in collaboration of Abbot Public Library, Raw Art Works, and the Marblehead Task Force Against Discrimination in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Task Force.
